The Latitude D520 can scale from affordable Intel Celeron® M
processors to mainstream performance dual core architecture.
Intel® Core™: Dual Core with 667Mhz System Bus
• Dual Core Processors – Dual core processors can provide increased performance in Multi-
Tasking environments and can enable increase performance for multi-threaded software
applications. Since there are two separate processing cores, dual core processors can provide a
performance increase over single core and HT enabled single core processors in Multi-Tasking or
multi-threaded environments.
Dual-core processors are designed to provide the following benefits over single core include:
1) Improved performance in complex application environments, completing more work per unit
of time.
2) Separate applications, or threads, can split tasks across the two processor cores, meaning
instructions can run concurrently to help complete projects faster.
• Latest micro-architecture – Featuring 65nm architecture, a power optimized 667MHz
processor system bus, aggressive clock gating & device sizing techniques designed for higher
performance & lower power
• Power Managed cache up to 2MB - Along with the enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology
with multi voltage/operating points
.
• Virus Protection - When combined with Microsoft’s latest OS (WinXP SP2), called Execute
Disable Bit, can help prevent malicious code (viruses) from attacking your system.
